Hi, my name is Gilbert Gacula.

Thank you for visiting my website.  I'm a relative unknown in the world of spearfishing.  Like most of you, it is one of the elements in my life that bring me great joy.  My love and respect for the ocean and what it has to offer stems from my early childhood growing up on the Big Island of Hawaii.

The draw of the ocean is inevitable....

As a young boy, I tagged along with my father as he hunted in chest-deep water for small game.  I was always thrilled to see my father spear bags full of fish which were soon thrown on the grill over an open fire.  I was hooked on the hunt from then on.  I soon enough built my first little wooden speargun and was out with my boyhood friend hunting the shallow inshore reefs with our own hand built equipment.  Its been more than twenty years since those simple days of fun at the beach, and I long for the days ahead to be as good.

My desire to design and build is natural....

I've since moved to Seattle to make a living as an engineer.  I also have a family of my own now.  A few years ago the same friend who I dove with when we were boys paid me a visit.  We reminisced about our early years of diving and he somehow managed to light a spark in me that hasn't gone away since.  I've been told by the wise that as one goes through life one will come across realizations, defining moments, epiphanies.  This was one of them.  I knew from that moment I would use my talents to design and build spearguns.

My commitment to manufacturing quality products remains steadfast....

Before even selling my first speargun, I've endured numerous trials and errors.  I've invested heavily in the tools and countless hours of my free time conducting the research and development to bring my vision closer to reality.  I'm pleased to finally be able to offer you quality spearguns.  I run my operation during my off hours and during the weekends.  Some think its work, and some think its play.   It's a little bit of both.  But mostly, its a passion.

Thank God for my endearing wife and family who unconditionally support my venture and encourage me to keep going and strive for perfection.

Aloha,

Gil
